President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov received the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexey Overchuk. Press service of the head of state reported.
Sadyr Japarov noted that the brotherhood of the peoples of the two countries, their historical and cultural affinity is considered as a key factor in the development of bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and Russia. He stressed the importance of the agreement signed on the construction of nine general education schools with Russian as the language of instruction in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Touching upon the status of the Russian language in the republic, the president said that he was resolutely against any attempts at political manipulation in this matter — it is enshrined as an official language in the Constitution.
He expressed confidence that the results of the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission would contribute to the deepening of the Kyrgyz-Russian bilateral cooperation.
Alexey Overchuk noted that Kyrgyzstan and Russia are united by partnership and trusting nature of relations. He is confident that the expected official visit of Sadyr Japarov to the Russian Federation will serve to further rapprochement between the two states.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Russia told about the project of schools to be built in Kyrgyzstan under the agreement. According to the information, graduates of new educational institutions will receive certificates of two types — the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation.
Modern schools will consist of four buildings: administrative, sports, for primary school students and separate for senior students. The educational complex will be equipped with modern technology, have a playground area, swimming pools and sports halls.
