The first Eurasiada sports games will be held in the fall on Issyk-Kul lake in Kyrgyzstan. The Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly Andrey Belyaninov told journalists.
«We have an initiative — Eurasiada. We planned to start it with national, folk sports, but professional sports are already joining them. We expect to hold the first competitions in Issyk-Kul region this year,» he said.
According to him, several dozen countries from all over the world, including Serbia and Bulgaria, will take part in Eurasiada.
Andrey Belyaninov also noted that the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly suggested the athletes, who will take part in the competition, to organize the Eurasian Trade Union of Professionals, within which they themselves will decide their fate, social protection, and determine directions.
«When they say that sport should be out of politics, it should be so in reality,» he added.
The Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly is an international union of non-governmental organizations that promotes the ideas and values of Eurasian integration, protection of peace, strengthening friendship, harmony, partnership and good neighborliness among peoples. It was created as an instrument of public diplomacy to enhance its role in the formation of a multipolar world.
