Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov, during his working visit to Uzbekistan, met with ethnic Kyrgyz living in Manas village, Dustlik district, Jizzakh region. Press service of the Cabinet reported.
Akylbek Japarov noted that support for compatriots living abroad was one of the priorities in the work of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Cabinet of Ministers.
«The Kyrgyz Republic and Uzbekistan are connected by a centuries-old common history. We are fraternal peoples, to whom fate itself predetermined to live in peace and harmony. It is gratifying that the necessary measures are being taken to develop the village of Manas and improve the living conditions of the ethnic Kyrgyz living here. It is very pleasant that you were able to preserve the language, culture, customs and traditions of our ancestors. We will make every effort so that the thread that connects you with your historical homeland is never broken,» the head of the Cabinet emphasized.
Within the framework of the implementation of Prosperous Village state program in 2018, the infrastructure of Manas village was significantly modernized.
At the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, 6.5 kilometers of water pipes were laid to provide the villagers with clean drinking water, 41 kilometers of collector and drainage networks were cleaned. The roofs of 34 multi-storey buildings have been repaired, trade and consumer service points have been built, fruit and ornamental trees have been planted.
In addition, a modern family clinic has been built, two secondary schools and a kindergarten have been renovated and equipped. Playgrounds, mini-football fields and a stadium were built, and garment workshops were put into operation.
