Foreigner involved in drug smuggling detained in Kyrgyzstan

Employees of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan detained a foreigner involved in drug smuggling. Press center of the state committee reported.

«A 32-year-old citizen of a foreign state was detained as part of the pre-trial proceedings under Article 358 Part 1 (illegal crossing of the state border of the Kyrgyz Republic) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic,» the statement says.

The detainee was involved in drug smuggling as part of an organized criminal group. He was wanted in a foreign country for a serious crime.

Investigation is ongoing.
