An increase in the incidence of tuberculosis was registered in 2022 in Kyrgyzstan (including in the Penitentiary Service). Press service of the Ministry of Health reported with reference to the National Phthisiology Center.
According to it, 3,996 cases of newly diagnosed tuberculosis were registered in 2022.
«The incidence rate of tuberculosis was 59.7 per 100,000 people, while 3,891 cases were registered (58.1 per 100,000 people) for the same period in 2021,» the ministry noted.
The highest incidence rate, as before, remains in Chui region — 93.7 per 100,000 people (for the same period in 2021 — 88.2 per 100,000 people), the lowest — in Issyk-Kul region — 40.9 per 100,000 people (for the same period in 2021 — 36.7).
