Kyrgyzstanis won medals on the first day of the Ibrahim Moustafa Wrestling Tournament in Egypt. UWW website reports.
Razzak Beyshekeyev (up to 67 kilograms) defeated an athlete from India in the fight for a bronze medal.
Siymyk Makhmudov (up to 63 kilograms) lost to a wrestler from Iran in the 1/8 finals. The opponent reached the finals, and the Kyrgyz athlete was granted the right to participate in a consolation tournament for the third place. He defeated Viktor Cheban from Moldova and Madiyar Maltebev from Kazakhstan.
Four more Kyrgyzstanis lost their fights for the third place.
Women’s and male teams (22 athletes) from Kyrgyzstan will participate in the tournament.
