The year 2023 on the territory of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is dedicated to the theme «Competent Consumer — Responsible Business». The Ministry of Economy and Commerce reports.
Under this motto, the Union countries will work together to protect consumer rights this year. Studies conducted by the Eurasian Economic Commission show that seller malpractice, fraudulent schemes and consumer deception remain a key problem that has a negative impact on consumer demand and undermines economic development.
«The topic, which has become a priority in the Union this year, is designed to draw attention to the need to create a space of mutual respect and trust between consumers and business. To achieve the goal, the EAEU countries have planned large-scale information and explanatory events for the population and businesses. This will expand existing and introduce new mechanisms to support and develop respectable relationships between participants in the consumer market of the Union,» the statement says.
