A resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan on imposing a temporary ban on the export of onions was adopted. The Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The ban is valid from January 31 for a period of three months.
The measure was taken to ensure food security and to contain prices for socially important food products, in particular for onions, shallots, leeks and other bulbous vegetables, fresh or refrigerated.
Earlier, the Ministry of Agriculture noted that Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan also imposed restrictions on the export of onions.
