President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov received the Chairman of the Senate of Parliament of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbaev. Press service of the head of state reported.
The parties exchanged views on further strengthening and expansion of political, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties between the countries. Sadyr Japarov congratulated Maulen Ashimbaev on the successful completion of the elections to the Senate.
The President noted the high level of dynamics of bilateral cooperation with Kazakhstan. Kyrgyzstan is making every effort for its further comprehensive strengthening. Sadyr Japarov expressed confidence that the visit of Maulen Ashimbaev to the Kyrgyz Republic would raise the Kyrgyz-Kazakh inter-parliamentary relations to a new qualitative level.
At the same time, the importance of stepping up the work of the Inter-Parliamentary Council was noted. Its meeting is planned to be held in the second half of 2023. The head of state also noted the importance of resuming the practice of mutual visits of parliamentary delegations / friendship groups.
In turn, Maulen Ashimbaev thanked the head of the Kyrgyz Republic for the warm welcome and conveyed greetings from the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. He expressed interest in further development of comprehensive cooperation with Kyrgyzstan.
Maulen Ashimbaev also elaborated on the positive developments in bilateral cooperation, including drawing attention to the important agreements adopted during the official visit of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Kyrgyzstan last year, which are being successfully implemented.
Maulen Ashimbaev congratulated the Kyrgyz Republic on the successful chairmanship of the EAEU bodies and the beginning of the CIS chairmanship in 2023. For its part, Kazakhstan is ready to support the Kyrgyz side in the implementation of all initiatives.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed confidence that cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan would continue to develop on a solid foundation of allied relations and strategic partnership.
