Registration of pilgrims for Hajj started in Kyrgyzstan on Tuesday.

The Spiritual Directorate of the Muslims of Kyrgyzstan (SDMK) informed that citizens, who have been in the electronic queue since 2019-2022, would be registered first. According to it, 33 points for acceptance of documents have been opened in the country.

The cost of the Hajj will be known later. Recall, it reached $4,500 for citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic last year.

The Hajj headquarters announced a competition among national airlines for the transportation of pilgrims. A competition has also been announced among designers for the production of uniform.

Earlier it was reported that Saudi Arabia allocated 6,000 quotas for pilgrims from Kyrgyzstan to participate in the Hajj in 2023.

In connection with the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, the Kingdom banned the pilgrimage to the shrines of Islam in Mecca and Medina for foreigners. There were restrictions on the Hajj for the Saudis themselves. The pilgrimage took place without the participation of foreign citizens for two years. The reception of Muslims from other states resumed in 2022.
