The Oktyabrsky District Court of Bishkek dropped criminal charges against Kazakh activists Diana Baimagambetova and Askhat Zheksebaev. Another activist from Kazakhstan, Didar Kairov, wrote on Facebook.
According to him, both defendants were released from custody.
Recall, the citizens of Kazakhstan were detained in Bishkek in November 2022. According to investigators, the activists tried to cross the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border. They were detained at Dostuk-Avtodorozhny checkpoint and placed in the remand center 1 in the capital.
