A new chapter of the Labor Code came into force in Kyrgyzstan, providing for the concepts of remote work and an electronic labor contract. The Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Migration confirmed the information to 24.kg news agency.
An employment contract can be concluded between an employee and an employer in the form of an electronic document certified by an electronic digital signature. This will increase the speed of registration of official labor relations and provide more opportunities for remote employment: the applicant will be able to select an employer from another region, remotely undergo an interview and conclude an employment contract.
Employees who work remotely are subject to the general norms of the Labor Code, including in terms of wages, hours of work and rest, vacations, guarantees, compensations, and so on. Working conditions are determined by the employment contract.
The law was adopted by the Parliament on November 16, 2022.
