The Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan has submitted a draft resolution for public discussion to ensure that the circulation of medicines is recorded through the registration of supply chain transactions in the information system «Electronic Database of Medicines and Medical products». Each medicine will get its own digital marking code.
The document says that full automation of accounting for the circulation of drugs is provided for by the National Development Program of the Kyrgyz Republic until 2026.
From January 1, 2023, the traceability system for medicines produced, imported and sold in Kyrgyzstan will be introduced in stages.
At the same time, the Cabinet of Ministers will approve the procedure for ensuring the traceability of medicines. Control will be entrusted to the Department of Medicines and Medical Products under the Ministry of Health.
Meanwhile, until December 31, 2025, experts will assess the quality of medicines subject to mandatory tracking.
