Since the beginning of the year, the Veterinary Service of Kyrgyzstan has temporarily limited the activity of 25 out of 93 existing slaughterhouses. Press service of the Ministry of Agriculture reported.

«The main reason for the restriction of activities is non-compliance with veterinary and sanitary requirements. In some cases, slaughterhouses were located near residential buildings or between them. Numerous complaints from local residents have been previously received against the facilities,» the ministry reported.

One violation was detected in Bishkek, Chui, Naryn and Batken regions, three — in Issyk-Kul region, four — in Osh, five — in Jalal-Abad region and nine — in Osh region.

Acts were issued against violators and orders were issued to eliminate the shortcomings.

The Veterinary Service plans to build modern slaughterhouses in every region of Kyrgyzstan in 2023. They will meet all necessary standards.
