President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov received the Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy Altynbek Maksutov. Press service of the head of state reported.
Altynbek Maksutov told about the organizational arrangements for the installation of the monument to Manas the Magnanimous in the city of Astana (Kazakhstan), presenting a draft sketch of the monument.
A competition for the best sketch was held among domestic sculptors and artists. The winner is the sculptor Urustombek Pazylov, the architect is the Honored Worker of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic Ulan Beishenbaev.
A working model of the monument has been prepared and approved by the artistic and expert commission.
According to the project, the pedestal is planned to be made of granite, the sculpture itself will be made of bronze.
«After the decision on the allocated land by the akimat of the city of Astana, minor adjustments are possible to achieve the maximum fitting of the monument into the environment,» the press service noted.
It is supposed to be erected in a wide, visited place in Astana, where citizens and guests of the capital will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the work of Kyrgyz architects.
President Sadyr Japarov instructed to ensure the high quality of all planned works in order to achieve a complete display of the image and spirit of Manas the Magnanimous.
