Earlier, Mayor Almaz Mambetov was dismissed by the presidential decree.
Previously, Bakytbek Zhetigenov was a member of the Parliament.
On November 28, 2021, the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek took him into custody as part of a criminal investigation into an attempted seizure of power. Bakyt Zhetigenov was released from custody on December 22.
