Suspect in robbery attack on taxi driver detained in Sokuluk

A 24-year-old resident of Sokuluk village was detained for a robbery attack on a taxi driver. Press service of the Central Internal Affairs Department of Chui region reported.

«The taxi driver turned to the police with a statement, saying that an unknown person got into his car on November 27 in Bishkek and asked to drive him to Sokuluk. Upon arrival, the passenger attacked him with a knife and inflicted cut wounds. Threatening with the knife, he took away a smartphone, 8,000 soms and documents for the car, and then fled,» the department informed.

A criminal case was opened under Article 37-122 (Attempted murder accompanied by robbery) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. Investigators of the Central Internal Affairs Department of Chui region and the Department of Internal Affairs of Sokuluk district managed to identify the attacker and detain him. The suspect was placed in a temporary detention center. The investigation is ongoing.
