COVID-19: Moderna vaccine delivered to Kyrgyzstan

Kyrgyzstan received Moderna vaccine against COVID-19. The Republican Headquarters reported, citing the Republican Immunoprophylaxis Center under the Ministry of Health.

According to it, the vaccine in the amount of 10,800 doses entered the country last week and has already been distributed among all regions.

Citizens can get vaccinated at any Family Medicine Center in Bishkek, Chui, Talas, Naryn, Issyk-Kul and Jalal-Abad regions. The vaccine will also be delivered to Osh and Batken regions in the near future.

The vaccine can be used as a booster dose after any of the WHO approved COVID-19 vaccines.

«If more than six months have passed since the completion of the primary vaccination course, a booster dose should be get as soon as possible. The second booster (4th dose) is also given 4-6 months later. First of all, the elderly, medical workers, pregnant women, people with chronic diseases and weakened immune systems should be vaccinated with the booster doses,» the center said.

Vaccination is not recommended to those who have severe allergic reactions to any of its components.

In addition, Sinopharm vaccine (China) is currently available in the country.
