Almost 5 million tourists have visited Kyrgyzstan for nine months. The Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism of the Ministry of Culture, Kiyal Kenzhematova, announced at a briefing.
According to her, during this time more than 6 million foreign and citizens of Kyrgyzstan arrived in the country.
«Our calculations based on the classification of the World Tourism Organization show that there were 4,900 million tourists during this time,» she said.
Kiyal Kenzhematova added that most of the tourists came from Uzbekistan — almost 3 million people. Kazakhstan takes the second place — 1.2 million tourists, Russia — the third (500,000 people).
She added that 2022 can be considered successful in terms of the recovery and development of the tourism sector after the pandemic.
