President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov signed the law on renaming some rural areas and villages in Batken region of the Kyrgyz Republic. Press service of the head of state reported.
The law was adopted by the Parliament on October 20, 2022. According to the document, three rural areas and 10 villages in Batken region are renamed.
It is clarified that it is necessary to return the areas and villages their historical names «within the framework of protecting national interests.»
«The law is aimed at strengthening the national ideology and further improving the spiritual and moral education of citizens in the spirit of patriotism and on the basis of national, historical traditions and values. Decisions on renaming rural areas and villages were made at meetings of residents of these villages, approved by decisions of rural councils, district state administrations, the Presidential Envoy to Batken region and the Parliament,» the background statement to the law says.
The following rural areas and villages have been renamed:
Markaz rural area in Kadamdzhai district of Batken region into Airybaz rural area:
Margun rural area in Leilek district, Batken region into Ken-Talaa rural area:
The law will come into force on January 1, 2023.
