Kyrgyzstan has improved its position in the UN e-government and e-citizen participation rankings. The Ministry of Digital Development reported.
Compared to 2014, the republic has risen 20 positions up in the e-Government Development Index (the level of development of electronic government) among 193 countries included in the UN monitoring.
This is the best indicator of Kyrgyzstan for the entire time of its presence in the ranking.
E-Government Development Index (EGDI, UN e-government development rating) is one of the key indicators of the development of the information society in the states of the world. It includes indicators of three important aspects of e-government: online service delivery, telecommunications, and human potential. Along with evaluating the development patterns of websites in the country, the index includes accessibility features (infrastructure and educational level), analyzing how the state uses information technology to increase access and involvement of the population.
«Kyrgyzstan took the 79th place in the E-Participation Index (EPI). The EPI index complements the EGDI and reflects citizens’ access to public information with or without request, engagement in and discussion of public policies and services, and empowerment of the population through collaborative electronic decision-making on policies, services and how they are delivered,» the Ministry of Digital Development reported.
