Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Akylbek Japarov, met with the Ombudsmen of the states participating in the international scientific and practical conference «Role of the Ombudsman’s Institute in the protection of human rights.»
The event is held in honor of the 20th anniversary of the Institute of Ombudsman of Kyrgyzstan.
The head of the Cabinet noted the importance and value of the activities of the Ombudsman’s Institute in matters of protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens. «The Institute of Ombudsman is very important for us. We have already had six ombudsmen for 20 years. The issue of bringing the law on the Ombudsman in line with the Paris Principles is now being considered to strengthen its independence,» he said.
The official wished success to representatives of human rights institutions and asked them to pay attention and provide assistance in protecting the rights of Kyrgyzstanis in their countries.
The participants of the meeting reaffirmed their commitment to further development and strengthening of cooperation and interaction between the institutions.
