One Village - One Product project launched in Karakol

Members of the interdepartmental working group headed by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Ainura Usenbekova, JICA Representative in the Kyrgyz Republic Ando Tahekiro and Chargé d’Affaires of Japan in the Kyrgyz Republic Okawa Soichiro for Issyk-Kul region got acquainted with the activities of OVOP project (One Village — One Product). The Ministry of Economy reported.

The project has been launched in Karakol. It is expected to help women entrepreneurs expand their export potential.

The opening ceremony of the OVOP production and training center in Karakol took place.

It is not only a workshop for production, but also a training center where local producers of Issyk-Kul region will be able to improve their production skills. Since 2017, the Issyk-Kul OVOP model has been extended to all regions of the country. Producers from other regions will also be able to attend the trainings.

In accordance with the order of the Cabinet of Ministers dated September 2, 2022, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce is the secretariat and coordinating body of the interdepartmental working group for the implementation of One Village — One Product project throughout the country.
