The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev met with his colleague from the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Abdul Momen in Astana (Kazakhstan) on the sidelines of the 6th summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia.

The parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. Particular attention was paid to the creation of joint ventures in the IT sector, textile and clothing industry, development of tourism, establishment of inter-parliamentary relations, as well as expansion of the legal framework between the countries.

Jeenbek Kulubaev, noting that Kyrgyzstan has the GSP+ status, which makes it possible to export more than 6,000 commodity items to the EU countries with the use of customs preferences, called on Bangladesh to consider using these advantages.

The representatives of Bangladesh expressed readiness for mutually beneficial cooperation, and also proposed mutual opening of diplomatic missions of the two states.
