An order will be issued on Monday to ban the export of coal outside the republic. Energy Minister Taalaibek Ibraev announced at a press conference today.
According to him, 178,264 tons of coal were exported for 478,408 million soms in January-September. In order to prevent shortages and increase in prices, it was decided to impose an export ban.
«The situation is that people take Kara-Keche coal, pack it in bags and take it abroad in 20-ton trucks. Therefore, we are issuing an order to ban the export of coal,» Taalaibek Ibraev said.
«We are constantly monitoring prices. Whoever sells for more than 4,000 soms, we will confiscate and prohibit them from loading it. It’s only traders who are engaged in speculative activity. They make a profit even at a price of 4,000. We are working on it. The only problem is the price, we need to keep it,» the minister concluded.
