Increase in ARVI incidence: Nearly 70 percent of patients are children

According to the latest data, 4,702 cases of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) were registered in Kyrgyzstan for 40th week of 2022 (from October 3 to October 9). The Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance reported.

Compared with the previous week, there is an increase in the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections by 12.1 percent, and compared to the same week in 2021, the incidence increased by 29.4 percent. Only about 3,600 cases were registered a year ago.

At least 69.5 percent of all cases are children under 14 years old (3,300 cases).

According to the order of the Ministry of Health, a ban on visiting patients was imposed in all hospitals of the republic on October 1.
