An increase in the incidence of acute viral respiratory infections (ARVI) has been registered in Chui region of Kyrgyzstan. The Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance reported.

At least 1,200 cases of acute respiratory viral infections were registered in Chui region for the fortieth week of 2022 (from October 3 to October 9). There is an increase by 5.9 percent.

The department told 24.kg news agency that there are no restrictions on holding mass entertainment events yet. Only a ban on visiting patients in hospitals was imposed.

«Cases of ARVI can be caused by unstable weather, which leads to weakening of the body’s defenses and an increase in incidence. Adults with acute respiratory viral infections more likely, if sanitary and hygienic measures are not followed, infect their children and family members,» the doctors noted.

The department conducts weekly monitoring of the incidence of influenza, ARVI and coronavirus infection.
