President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has awarded the Russian leader Vladimir Putin with Oliy Darajali Dustlik (Highest Degree of Friendship) Order. RIA Novosti reports citing Sherzod Asadov, deputy head of the administration, spokesman for the head of the republic.
The award was presented «for a huge personal contribution to the development of traditional bonds of friendship and cooperation between the peoples of the countries, as well as in connection with the 70th anniversary of the President of the Russian Federation.»
Oliy Darajali Dustlik Order was established in 2020 and is the highest state award of Uzbekistan for foreign citizens. It can be awarded to heads of state and government, representatives of parliaments of other countries and international organizations, prominent figures in various fields.
