Restoration work continues in Batken region after the armed clashes at the border with Tajikistan. At least 160 destroyed houses were demolished on October 3. Press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
The commission found 640 destroyed houses, 423 of which are not subject to restoration, 217 more are in need of repair.
At least 11 administrative and strategic facilities, 27 social facilities, 335 auxiliary premises, 197 utility facilities, a bridge, 61 cars were destroyed.
About 125,000 out of 136,770 evacuated residents of Batken region returned home. Temporary housing was organized for those who were left without a home — 64 rooms in 8 institutions and 218 houses of local residents.
Emergency situation has been introduced in Batken region. Shooting began at several sites of the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on the morning of September 16. Settlements in Leilek and Batken district came under fire. The Ministry of Health reported 198 victims, 62 people were killed. As a result of the armed conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, residents of seven villages in Batken and Leilek districts, as well as Dzhekendi village in Chon-Alai district of Osh region, left their homes.
The Prosecutor General’s Office of Kyrgyzstan opened a criminal case on crimes against peace.
