Education Minister Almazbek Beishenaliev arrested for two months

Minister of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Beishenaliev, who was detained for taking a bribe, was arrested for two months. He announced this when leaving the courtroom accompanied by an escort.

This decision was made by the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek.

Almazbek Beishenaliev was detained on suspicion of taking a bribe in the amount of $110,000 on September 28. He allegedly extorted money for the enrollment of foreign students in domestic universities.
