Suspects of extorting money from entrepreneurs were detained. Press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
Unknown persons, calling themselves representatives of one of the criminal groups, threatening and exerting psychological pressure, extorted $50,000 from a resident of Alamedin district.
The men threatened the life and health of the entrepreneur’s family members, as well as with possible problems in the business.
The fact was registered in Alamedinsky District Department of Internal Affairs. Ф criminal case was initiated under Article 208 (extortion) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The extortionists were detained while taking 200,000 soms. They turned out to be two residents of Dzheti-Oguz district of Issyk-Kul region. One of them has a previous conviction.
Involvement of the detainees in other similar crimes is being checked.
