Schools of Kyrgyzstan lack more than 800 teachers

According to operational data as of September 12, schools lack 839 teachers. Kylym Sydyknazarova, a leading specialist of the School Education Policy and Book Publishing Department of the Ministry of Education and Science, told 24.kg news agency.

According to her, the largest shortage of personnel is registered in Bishkek (235 vacancies) and in Chui region (253), the lowest shortage is in Issyk-Kul (41), Talas (30) and Naryn (10) regions.

At least 1,904 people graduated from pedagogical faculties in 2022. After distribution by regions, 1,049 young professionals are already working in schools (72 percent).

Graduates of budget-funded departments will receive their diplomas only three years after working in schools.

Basically, there is a shortage of personnel in schools with the Russian language of instruction: teachers of primary classes, mathematics, Russian and English, computer science, physics, music, and even physical education.
