The government delegations of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan signed a protocol of the joint meeting on the delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border. Press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.
The document from the Kyrgyz side was signed by the Chairman of the State Committee for National Security, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Kamchybek Tashiev, from the Uzbek side — by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov.
The protocol makes it possible to begin the procedure of approval of a draft of a new agreement on certain sections of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border.
The length of the border between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan is 1,378 kilometers, 85 percent of which have been demarcated.
