The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Kyrgyz Republic considered it necessary to provide clarifications in connection with the citation of the Ambassador of the country Du Dewen, who spoke earlier at a scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 73rd anniversary of founding of the People’s Republic of China.
According to it, unfortunately, some media incorrectly cited the words of the head of the diplomatic mission and distorted the meaning of her speech.
The diplomatic mission does not rule out that «certain media are trying to challenge China’s friendly relations with Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, undermine peace and stability in the region.»
«Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are friendly neighbors and comprehensive strategic partners of China. The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Kyrgyzstan Du Dewen, within the framework of the conference, held a friendly exchange of views with representatives of various circles of the Kyrgyz Republic on achieving the development of the PRC and China-Kyrgyzstan relations. She noted that there are no unresolved political issues between China and Kyrgyzstan. The two countries are trusting and reliable friends and partners. The two sides firmly support each other on key issues affecting the fundamental interests of the two states. The Chinese side supports the Kyrgyz side in independently choosing the path of development in accordance with national realities, supports the policies and measures of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic to protect independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and economic development.
Kyrgyz side is firmly committed to the principle of one China, strongly supporting the position of the PRC on the issues of Xinjiang, Taiwan and Hong Kong and the efforts of the Chinese side to protect sovereignty, security and development interests,» the statement says.
The Chinese side sincerely hopes and believes that the two sides will be able to properly resolve differences and disagreements based on mutual respect and friendly consultations, and jointly maintain peace and stability in the region.
