The loss of the Russian army since the start of the special military operation in Ukraine reached 5,937 people. The Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu said in an interview with Rossiya TV channel.
He did not voice the number of wounded, but stated that «more than 90 percent of the wounded returned to duty.»
According to him, 300,000 reservists will be called up for the partial mobilization announced on Wednesday by the Russian president. At the same time, the minister estimated the mobilization resource of the Russian Federation at 25 million people.
«We are at war not so much with Ukraine as with the collective West plus NATO. This refers not only to the weapons that are supplied to Ukraine, but also to communication systems, information processing, and intelligence. Virtually the entire NATO satellite constellation is working against us,» Sergei Shoigu said.
According to his estimates, at the initial stage, the armed forces of Ukraine amounted to 200,000-201,000 people. «They have 61,000 dead, 49,000 wounded. Half of the army is lost. They are in their fourth wave of mobilization. 300,000 have been mobilized,» the minister said.
