Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Torobaev took part in the opening of Kyrgyzstan — Belarus Business Forum. Press service of the Cabinet reported.
The event is held within the framework of the 10th meeting of the Intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Belarusian Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
Bakyt Torobaev called the increase in production potential, capacities for the production of products with high added value, as well as the creation of joint ventures in all industrial sectors as promising areas for the development of the Kyrgyz-Belarusian partnership.
«The first Kyrgyzstan-Belarus Business Forum is dedicated to discussing the key social and economic issues that the countries are facing to strengthen the bridge of cooperation between business circles. There are 54 representative offices of the subjects of the commodity distribution network and distributors of Belarusian enterprises in the republic, including the assembly production of tractors of Minsk Tractor Plant JSC. At the same time, the Kyrgyz side is interested in attracting investments in such areas as information technology, agriculture, industry and tourism,» he said.
According to the City Hall of Osh, agreements and contracts for more than $900 million were signed within the framework of the forum.
The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers noted that the business agenda of the business forum will allow to fully unlock and fulfill the potential for further development of the Kyrgyz-Belarusian cooperation, as well as provide an opportunity to consider specific potential investment projects aimed at deepening business partnership.
«I hope that the ideas and recommendations developed on the sidelines of the forum will raise relations between our countries to a new level, contribute to the further consolidation and development of positive trends in trade and economic relations between the states participating in the event, and will also contribute to the implementation of new initiatives,» he concluded.
