Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan — Minister of Trade and Integration, Serik Zhumangarin, and head of Zhambyl region, Nurzhan Nurzhigitov, visited Karasu checkpoint in Kordai district, where they got acquainted with the project for the construction of an industrial trade and logistics complex on the border of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Kazakh media outlet reports.

The new center will reduce the number of intermediaries, reduce the cost of products for consumers and delivery times. Creation of such a complex will strengthen business ties between manufacturers and entrepreneurs of the two countries, in particular from Chui region of Kyrgyzstan and Zhambyl region of Kazakhstan. The main consumers of the products will be residents of Almaty, Bishkek and Taraz.

According to Serik Zhumangarin, there will be five such facilities in the republic. One of them will be in Kordai district, the construction of which is planned to be completed by 2025. The complex will make it possible to maximize the use of the transit potential of the two countries.

The priority areas of development and logistics are being determined now: production of in-demand, high-tech products, creation of places for the storage and processing of agricultural products, development of cooperative industries in the light industry, construction of transport and logistics facilities in accordance with the international system for the production of goods.

The industrial trade and logistics complex will be built on the territory of Karasu and Ak-Tilek checkpoints. Administration of Zhambyl region allocated a land plot of 39 hectares for construction. The issue of additional allocation of a land plot of 100 hectares is being considered.

A draft intergovernmental agreement on regulating the activities of the new complex has also been developed. Agro-industrial products will be stored and processed on its territory. In addition, industrial cooperation will be conducted in the system of international commodity distribution networks of the EAEU. Logistics facilities will be built and services will be created with further integration into the system of international commodity distribution networks.

Earlier, Serik Zhumangarin discussed this issue with the head of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov.
