Treatment and support of patients with hemophilia has been discussed at the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan. Press center of the ministry reported.
According to it, the Minister Gulnara Baatyrova met with the Regional Manager for Europe and Central Asia at the World Federation of Hemophilia Karine Kocharian and representatives of Society of Disabled Hemophilia Patients in the Kyrgyz Republic NGO. They discussed topical issues of lack of drugs for children and adults, organization of comprehensive (multi-disciplinary) medical care for patients with hemophilia, the possibility of improving laboratory diagnostics and rehabilitation.
Gulnara Baatyrova told that the state annually purchases 3 million IU of factors, but this is not enough. «The support of the global federation in the form of an annual provision of 6 million IU of factors is invaluable,» she said.
The head of the Ministry of Health added that the issue of allocation of 1 billion soms to the ministry for the purchase of vital and necessary medicines is now being decided. Hemophilia is among the diseases for which funds will be allocated.
At least 411 patients with hemophilia have been registered in Kyrgyzstan, half of whom are children under 16.
