Extremists disseminate materials through Facebook in Osh region

The Main Department of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) for the city of Osh and Osh region revealed dissemination of materials of banned religious extremist and terrorist organizations on Facebook. Press center of the SCNS reported.

«Theological examination showed that the materials contain symbols of the religious extremist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami, and calls for building of an Islamic caliphate. On September 7, searches were conducted at the places of residence of eight members of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Nookat and Kara-Suu districts, Kyzyl-Kiya city,» the statement says.

The suspects were found to have USB flash drives, CDs and literature of a religious nature. The seized was sent for examination. The investigation is ongoing.
