By decision of the Interdepartmental Commission, restrictions on the export of grain and flour have been lifted and quotas have been set for the export of livestock in Kazakhstan. Website of the Prime Minister of the republic says.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, a good grain harvest is expected in Kazakhstan. It is planned to harvest more than 13 million tons of wheat this year. This exceeds last year’s figure by 12 percent. About 6.5 million tons are required for domestic consumption.
Following the discussion, it was decided to lift restrictions on the export of grain and flour from September 10, 2022.
At the meeting, the commission approved the introduction of quantitative restrictions (quotas) on the export of cattle and small ruminants, with the exception of breeding stock.
According to statistics, as of August 1, the number of cattle is 9.4 million heads, including 4.5 million heads of cows, the litter reached 3.2 million heads.
A decision was made to set a quota for the export of calf bulls in the amount of 60,000 heads, or 9 percent of the total livestock, as well as 120,000 heads of young sheep, or 10 percent of the total livestock.
