Schoolchildren studying abroad will be able to learn Kyrgyz and the history of Kyrgyzstan. The head of the School Education Policy and Book Publishing Department of the Ministry of Education and Science, Samarkul Umralieva, told at a briefing.
According to her, there are children who go to Russian or Kazakh schools, but do not learn the state language and the history of the Kyrgyz Republic.
«By the end of the year, when they should already receive documents on education, they return to Kyrgyzstan for family and other reasons. It turns out that they do not have grades in two or three subjects and this program does not correspond to ours. A program for learning the Kyrgyz language and the history of the Kyrgyz Republic will be launched for such children and those who wish,» Samarkul Umralieva said.
The Cabinet of Ministers announced a month’s campaign dedicated to the Kyrgyz language. The event is timed to the 33rd anniversary of the adoption of the state language.
