Bishkek buys Chinese buses under the project of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Director of the Bishkek Passenger Transport Enterprise Bakyt Temikeev told 24.kg news agency.
According to him, a contract has already been signed with Golden Dragon. It is planned that 124 buses will be delivered to Bishkek within six months.
«They will be 10.5 meters long. At the second stage, we will announce a tender for the purchase of 12-meter-long buses,» he said.
Bakyt Temikeev told that both tenders announced by the enterprise for the purchase of buses at the expense of the city budget did not take place. The reason is significant shortcomings in bids.
«So far, I cannot say whether the third tender will be held or whether we will purchase the buses directly. The commission will decide that,» he said.
Recall, 1 billion soms were provided for the purchase of buses from the budget of the capital. The amount of the loan from the EBRD is $33 million, $25 million of which is a loan, $8 million is a grant; the loan is planned for 12 years, the grace period is three years.
