Governor of Voronezh Oblast of Russia Alexander Gusev announced construction of a large logistics center in the region. The authorities are looking for partners to implement the project. The issue was discussed at a meeting with a delegation from Kyrgyzstan headed by the Presidential Envoy to Talas region Bakytbek Narbekov.
According to Alexander Gusev, it will be the right project: being practically in the center of Russia, competent logistics flows can be built.
«The Central Asian republics are interested in it, because vegetables and fruits grown on their territory are in demand in the Russian Federation. They can replace those products that came from Europe. Therefore, we are now starting close cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan. This interaction is mutually beneficial,» he said.
The meeting participants discussed bilateral cooperation in the field of agro-industrial complex and the increase in the turnover of food products and agricultural raw materials between Voronezh Oblast and Talas region.
Bakytbek Narbekov assured that the Kyrgyz Republic is interested in the products from Voronezh Oblast, can assist in their sale and, in turn, share the goods made in the country.
«We want to cooperate with Voronezh Oblast. We have logistics — a railway siding, and a large flow of cargo also passes through the territory of Talas region. Last year, we launched a gold mine, the developer of which is a Russian company. By launching this project, we got out of the subsidized situation. More than 5,000 tons of bell pepper are grown annually in Talas region, and we are ready to export our products to Voronezh Oblast,» Bakytbek Narbekov said.
According to him, Kyrgyzstan is interested in becoming a distributor of Voronezh agricultural equipment.
Over the past year, the volume of trade between the two regions increased more than one and a half times.
The parties also discussed events within the framework of honoring the memory of the Hero of the Soviet Union Cholponbai Tuleberdiev. The native of Talas region died in Voronezh Oblast on August 6, 1942, closing the embrasure of an enemy bunker with his body and ensuring the capture of a strategic bridgehead for the offensive operation of the 6th Army of the Voronezh Front. The feat of the hero of two peoples, Cholponbai Tuleberdiev, is sacredly revered both in the Kyrgyz Republic and in the territory of Voronezh Oblast, and the Red Army soldier himself is called the «batyr of Don».
