Document on the introduction of an unlimited tariff for electricity was submitted to the head of the Cabinet of Ministers for signing. Energy Minister of Kyrgyzstan Doskul Bekmurzaev announced at a press conference.
According to him, one can choose this tariff at will.
«Unlimited tariff will be introduced — this is not a mandatory one. You can switch to it if you wish. If citizens do not want to heat their housing by coal, they can choose this tariff and use electricity at 5.4 soms per kilowatt-hour to heat their houses,» the minister explained.
At the same time, he noted that the electricity rates will not change this year.
«The President has set such requirements. But next year, we need to raise the issue of revising tariffs,» Bekmurzaev added.
He noted that this measure is necessary because all the units and devices used for generating energy are bought in foreign currency. «The prices for them and cost of their delivery have increased significantly for a year, and therefore the cost of electricity has also increased,» the minister added.
