Parents of students of school No. 61 hold a rally in Bishkek. More than a hundred people gathered in the Maxim Gorky park.

«We demand from the Ministry of Education to leave our director in his place and stop heating up the public situation on the eve of the new academic year, especially given the difficult economic situation of the population. Yuri Nizovsky has proved his professionalism over the long years of managing the school. The number of gold certificates received by its graduates is growing year by year. The school successfully passes all certifications. What and to whom else does Nizovsky have to prove at a fictitious competition?» participant of the rally Altynai Toktomusheva said.

According to a presidential decree, principals of 966 schools must be replaced by the start of the new academic year, as they have been in office for more than five years. They continue to perform their duties until new principals are appointed. The competition started in Talas, six applicants out of seven failed to overcome the required threshold.

Principal of school No. 61 Yuri Nizovsky refused to participate in the competition, considering this process humiliating.

Earlier, members of the public movement of parents for protection of education in the Kyrgyz Republic took part in the protest. About 40 people with banners in their hands gathered near the building of the Ministry of Education and Science.
