Seeds provided by Kazakhstan as humanitarian aid were sold to farmers in Kyrgyzstan. It was announced today at a press conference.
Civic activist Atai Beishenbek asked the Minister of Agriculture, stating that the ministry was accused of sale of the seeds that Kazakhstan sent as humanitarian aid.
Askarbek Dzhanybekov confirmed the information. According to him, Kazakh seeds have been sold.
«It was 1,000 tons, and there are 450,000 farmers in Kyrgyzstan. This would not be enough for everyone. To create equal conditions for everyone, these seeds were sold together with others for 42 soms per kilogram,» the official replied.
In total, according to Askarbek Dzhanybekov, more than 24 tons of seeds of various agricultural crops have been delivered to Kyrgyzstan this year. They were imported from three countries: Russia, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
