206 citizens die during emergencies for six months in Kyrgyzstan

At least 206 citizens died during emergencies for six months in Kyrgyzstan. The head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Boobek Azhikeev told at a press conference.

According to him, compared to last year, the number of emergencies in the first half of 2022 increased by 51.5 percent.

«The most severe emergencies are mudflows. At least 231 objects were damaged. Material damage amounted to 174 million soms,» the official said.

According to him, compared to 2021, the number of victims of the emergencies has decreased three times. At least 206 people died for six months in total, 188 of them — from coronavirus infection.

Material damage caused by emergencies and other incidents for six months of the year reached 610,673 million soms.
