District police officers of the Department of Internal Affairs of Leninsky district of Bishkek detained a citizen of China suspected of fraud. Press service of the police department reported.
Back in September 2021, a citizen of Kyrgyzstan applied to the police with a statement. He said that in May 2018, a Chinese citizen took $31,400 from him, promising to open a joint business and give him a 30 percent share in the authorized capital. But in the end, the man did not receive what he was promised and did not get his money back.
A criminal case was opened under Article 209 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code. The suspect was arrested only in June 2022.
«Measures are underway to establish the possible involvement of the suspect in other similar crimes,» the statement says.
