The President of Kyrgyzstan awarded the UN Resident Coordinator in the Kyrgyz Republic Ozonnia Ojielo with a state award — Dank medal for special merits in organizing international assistance during the global COVID-19 pandemic and contribution to the development of the country. The corresponding decree has been signed. Press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.
The award was presented by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov.
Ozonnia Ojielo is completing his diplomatic mission in Kyrgyzstan.
Akylbek Japarov expressed gratitude to the UN agencies that have provided the republic with significant assistance in sustainable development, human rights protection, gender equality, development of democratic institutions, strengthening the rule of law, health care, food security, countering terrorism and violent extremism, as well as drug trafficking.
The UN Resident Coordinator Ozonnia Ojielo, in turn, expressed gratitude to the President for the high state award and said that he would keep in his heart the memory of the people, life and service on the land of Kyrgyzstan.
