Smuggled cargo detained at Kyzyl-Kiya-Avtodorozhny checkpoint

Border guards of Kyzyl-Kiya-Avtodorozhny checkpoint prevented smuggling attempt. The Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan reported.

Two DAF and Volvo heavy trucks driven by citizens of Kyrgyzstan arrived at the checkpoint. The vehicles were heading to Uzbekistan.

During the inspection, the border guards found six blocks of shelly limestone. The total weight of the cargo was 48 tons.

In accordance with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, a temporary ban has been imposed on the export of shelly limestone from the republic.

Another cargo was indicated in the shipping documents submitted by the drivers — facing tiles.

The detained drivers and the cargo were handed over to the employees of the competent authorities for further investigation.
